Jet lag sucks
So, after an unexpected hiatus, I’m back.
I honestly had intended to try and blog while I was on my trip, but that just didn’t end up happening. My mother and I found that we ended up back at our hotel each night so exhausted in the best way, that I just didn’t have the energy to fight with uploading pics over crappy wifi and writing posts on my phone. As such, there will be 2 posts that go up about the trip retroactively – one each for London and Paris – where I’ll share some of my pics and stories 🙂
I will say that we had an amazing time on this trip. This was my 3rd time in both London and Paris in the last year, but it was the first time I’d gone on a trip with someone, and I was so glad that I could have this experience with my mother. We saw some cool new stuff, but really, my favourite parts of this trip were just being able to see London and Paris through my mother’s eyes: the joy on her face at seeing the Eiffel Tower for the first time, watching her pinch herself as we ate dinner the last night in a cafe with a view of the Tower. And I know that she got the same pleasure from watching me (guess who geeked out at Platform 9 3/4 😉 ). This trip was about giving my mom Paris, and being able to share it with her, and that’s something that no photo can capture.
But yes, those will be to come. Mostly now, I’m trying to overcome massive jet lag, an exhausting 22 hour 3 flight travel day that ended in the 4th flight being cancelled, 2 days of class lost because of getting stranded in Nova Scotia (which was actually fantastic because I got to go home and see my family).
Oh right, and the OSCE Saturday.
