Mad (scrub) cap adventures: Dr. Seuss’ “Oh the Places” cap

Look, it was bound to happen.  From being the book I took with me as a present from a friends mother when I moved provinces after my parents divorce, to the quotes I have on my 2 graduation rings, to the title of this blog, it’s probably clear that Dr. Seuss’ “Oh the Places You’ll Go” means something special to me.  I’m a big fan of pretty much all of Dr. Seuss’ work, but “Oh the Places You’ll Go” to me has always been a really great story about motivation and life, with a fantastic message and some really sage wisdom.

So, given how much the “Waiting Place” was part of my pre-med limbo, when I saw this fabric, I knew there was only one thing I could do:

I think this cap is fun and whimsical, and more than that, for me at least, it’s an opportunity to turn something that before meant that I was still waiting for my dream (med school) to come true into a symbol of that dream coming true 🙂 Like the good books says:

be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Mordecai Ali Van Allen O’Shea,
You’re off the Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So…get on your way!

This cap and all caps shown on the blog are available for purchase here 🙂
