Mad (scrub) cap adventures: the Doctor and Companions

So, I mentioned that I had started to make scrub caps, and that I had ordered some geeky fabric.  I had intended to post them as I made them, but burnout stuck pretty hard, so now will have to do 🙂  As I intend to make many different ones, I’m going to call each post the ‘Mad (scrub) cap adventures’ – get it, so witty 😉 – and they’ll just be their own little category on the blog.

Thus, the first of the caps: The Doctor and Companions cap from BBC’s Doctor Who:

I’ve made 7 different caps so far and this one is my favourite by far!  I am a huge Dr. Who fan (see my Tardis sapphire ring), and I just love this pattern from Spoonflower which has the 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors as well as their new series companions, the Tardis and Gallifreyan symbols.

Top of the cap.

The pattern I use is unisex, and I added navy blue ties that make it one sizes fits all, and it fits my (quite large) head, and well as my friend with her mid back length thick hair tucked in, so it serves it’s purpose 🙂

All in all, I love making these, and I love this one specifically!  Honestly, my only thing is, to make them for me I have to order a yard (for the dimensions) which means I have anywhere from 5-7 extra caps when I make them!

I hope all of my friends really like scrub caps for Christmas this year! Either that or, I don’t suppose anyone wants to buy a scrub cap, do they…? 😉

*This cap and all caps shown on the blog are now available for purchase here :)*

  1. ….I need this. A lot. I would totally wear that on my surgical rotations. I agree, you should sell them. Easy enough to set up an etsy shop. 🙂

    • I think I actually will give an etsy shop a try 🙂 It was an idea I had kind of kicked around myself, but wasn’t sure if I was going to do it. But I might as well give it a shot, right? 🙂 And yes, this one is so fab, I just love Doctor Who 🙂 Thanks for the encouragement!
