Christmas Eve at the old homestead
So, I’ve been home since Friday, and I’m finally sinking into the rhythm of the holidays, not that that’s too hard 😉 I’m absolutely not a morning person, so I’ve been waking up a the crack of noon these past few days, though I’d argue I’ve earned it after 4 months of 7 am mornings 5 days a week!
But now I’m home, and it’s kind of weird to be here. Med school is such a big shift – not just because I’m in a different province, but because I’m in such a different mind set. I love med school, I really, really do, but it is tiring, and it can be all consuming. This break is so nice because of that, where I can just relax, and not have any worries in the world, and just slow down for a few minutes.
And, of course, Christmas!
It’s just me and my mom for Christmas this year – my sister is with my dad in Toronto this year, as they alternate, and she’ll be back for New Years with us. So my mom and I have been keep it pretty low key for the break so far – good food, a little shopping, and it’s possible that we have to do all our wrapping tonight.
Oops. Oh well, there isn’t as much as previous years when “Santa” needed to visit, so I’m not worried. Tonight we’re having chicken pot pie, watching The Muppets Christmas Carol (the only christmas eve movie we ever watch), wrapping presents and just chilling.
Sounds like a perfect Christmas Eve to me! So Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all 🙂
